When the first glimmers of our 1 year anniversary celebration started to emerge, we knew we wanted a WINE forward dinner with delicious food as one of the festivities. And, what better food with wine than cheese?! Our first thought was to contact Lauren from Carousel about a collaboration for a Wine Loves Cheese Anniversary Dinner! Lauren created a menu featuring all French cheeses that we fell in love with. David immediately started to work on French wines to pair. With the Winter Olympics in full swing and Ice Fest just around the corner, we decided this is the perfect time to Deep Dive into Alpine wines! Alpine wines come from the cooler climates of the mountain areas of Europe - eastern France, Northern Italy, Austria, and Germany. These areas tend to produce crisp whites and light reds. Despite sounding counter intuitive, they are actually great to drink during winter.

The 3rd week of November is when Beaujolais Nouveau is released and it’s a pretty big deal. Unfortunately in David’s opinion “most Nouveau sucks”. So we’re going to stick with Beaujolais, but focus on the good stuff!
