Wine Camp - Exploring Glassware
Does the glass you put your wine in really matter? Come find out for yourself! Together we will explore glassware, specifically the shape of the wine glass and how it changes the taste, smell and texture of the wine. You may have wondered about the different shapes of the glasses we use at Pulling Corks, and why we put specific wines in certain glasses and not others. There are some guidelines of course but the most important test is checking it out for yourself. Come and taste 2 wines from 3 different glasses, to see how different shapes add or detract from each wine. This tasting is always fun, and surprising to experience just how much the wines change from glass to glass. As always, David will be happy to answer your questions and guide your experience.
WOW Tasting 04.29.26
We have a bunch of wine that we need to taste and decide whether the bottles are a good fit for the glass pour list, bottle list, or to pass. David finds it helpful to hear other people’s opinions about wine, so we’ve combined the two into our most fun and casual tasting - Wine Opinion Wednesday - WOW.
Wine Camp - Exploring the Price of wine
We get a lot of questions about why some wines cost so much more than other wines, and you might wonder, are the expensive ones really worth it? Come find out for yourself! Together we’ll taste 3 wines from the same grape from 3 different price points so you can get a sense of the differences for yourself. We’ll talk about winemaking, farming and vineyard location, and all the pieces that go into the price of your wine. We’ll also talk about some things that add cost but not much value, so you can avoid wines that aren’t going to give you bang for the buck.
Wine Camp - Exploring Natural wine
Maybe you’ve heard the term natural wine or even natty wine, but what does that really mean? Together we will taste and talk about natural and traditional wines and how they differ in both flavor and winemaking decisions. Natural wines can be controversial, and some people really don’t like them while others are exclusively devoted to them. This is an important area to get a better sense of because it will help you navigate wine lists so you can order the style of wine you will actually enjoy! Together we’ll taste 4 wines, showing a range from classical to very natty.

wine loves cheese anniversary dinner
When the first glimmers of our 1 year anniversary celebration started to emerge, we knew we wanted a WINE forward dinner with delicious food as one of the festivities. And, what better food with wine than cheese?! Our first thought was to contact Lauren from Carousel about a collaboration for a Wine Loves Cheese Anniversary Dinner! Lauren created a menu featuring all French cheeses that we fell in love with. David immediately started to work on French wines to pair. As he combed through wine ideas, he saw a favorite pattern emerge - Champagne!

DEEP DIVE TASTING - alpine wines
The Deep Dive is a new tasting series where we’ll focus on one producer or region and go deep!
With the Winter Olympics in full swing and Ice Fest just around the corner, we decided this is the perfect time to Deep Dive into Alpine wines! Alpine wines come from the cooler climates of the mountain areas of Europe - eastern France, Northern Italy, Austria, and Germany. These areas tend to produce crisp whites and light reds. Despite sounding counter intuitive, they are actually great to drink during winter.
