The Deep Dive is a new tasting series where we’ll focus on one producer or region and go deep!
The 3rd week of November is when Beaujolais Nouveau is released and it’s a pretty big deal. Unfortunately in David’s opinion “most Nouveau sucks”. So we’re going to stick with Beaujolais, but focus on the good stuff! The brothers, Claude-Emmanuel and Louis Beniot Devignes are doing something really amazing in the Beaujolais village of Morgon, they’re making 6 wines from this village! One is a blend of sites across the village, the other 5 are all single parcel wines, including one from 100 year old vines. This is a rare treat to taste across a village because it gives such insight to what’s going on there, particularly through the eyes of just one producer. This is definitely a nerdy tasting, and because it’s Beaujolais, it will still be fun and delicious! We are excited to pull corks on the following wines:
Desvignes Morgon La Voûte Saint-Vincent 2023
Desvignes Morgon Château Gaillard 2023
Desvignes Morgon Montpelain 2023
Desvignes Morgon Corcelette 2023
Desvignes Morgon Javernières 2023
Desvignes Morgon Javernières Aux Pierres 2023
